In order to create a sense of community and evoke some healthy competition amongst students and staff, Stanborough operates a House System.
Students are organised into three houses, each representing an inspiring Missionary and explorer. Each house icon has made a significant and long lasting contribution to society and reflect the attributes we strive to instil in our young individuals at Stanborough.
Students are given the opportunity to represent their house in a wide range of activities including; house debates, Maths Challenge, English spelling competitions and the House Leagues in the main sports, which offer a particular opportunity to those who do not play in the major school teams. The vast selection of events reflects our intention to make our house system holistic and engaging; we aim to give everyone the chance to shine. Older students can apply for the role of House Captains and are at the fore-front of all events and advancements.
‘’A child’s House and provides a community within the school to which he relates particularly closely. Although each House has its individual character, there is an even spread of abilities and talents throughout the Houses, and students in any one House represent a fair cross-section of the whole school’’
